EXCLUSIVE: Interview With Best Behavior

Best Behavior are a fast rising New York based hip/hop trio and they are currently gearing up for the release of their new EP ‘Things That Happened’ which will be released on November 14th.

Here we speak exclusively to the band about their new music, inspirations, touring plans, and much, much more;

So, how did you all meet?

My buddy Jeremy Duvall who plays drums in the band Haybaby actually put the group together. He’s a good guy to know when you’re looking for band members.

When did you decide to launch the band?

I was going through a pretty vicious break up and got back into music. The Black Lips were playing House of Vans and I thought I should put a new group together. They were killing it.

When you were growing up who inspired your love of music

I love the 1960s British Invasion bands. I found a weird music magazine when I was young that had all these bands like The Zombies, The Kinks, Yardbirds. It totally changed my life.

How do you feel your individual tastes come together to create Best Behavior’s sound?

We all grew up on punk music but everyone in the group loves great pop songs. We kind of meet in that weird place.

As a mixed genre trio what do you feel you have that makes you stand out from the rest?

We’re best friends and you can hear that in music. We play what we want to play and I think that’s important.

Who would be your dream collaboration?

Kanye [West]. He’s very inspiring to the group. No one man should have all that power.

What is the main inspiration behind your new single?

You meet the wildest people in NYC and ‘Catherine No Chaser’ is about one of those once in a lifetime meetups.

When can fans expect an album from you?

We are shooting for Spring 2018!

Do you have any touring plans lined up?

We’ll be hitting the road in March. We love touring so we can’t wait to get back.

What do you hope listeners take from your music?

I just hope they have a good time and enjoy the music. It’s all we could ask for.

How excited are you about the release of your new EP?

13 circles out of 10.

What do you hope to achieve over the next ten years?

We’d love to tour the world and put out some great music. Make some more amazing fans.
