EXCLUSIVE: Interview With Desperado

Desperado is a South London based artist whose history stems back from being the leader of South Soldiers to then going on to be a member of the OGz. He’s also been on various of Grime’s biggest networks including Lord Of The Mics and Risky Roadz.

And now he is back with new single ‘Say Narda’ with Dutch and Karma Cruz and here we speak exclusively to the rapper and Grime mc about his musical influences, new music, future plans and much more;

Growing up who inspired your love of music?
Growing up the person that inspired my love of music was my step Dad. He was a musician and he had studio set up at home. Having a studio setup at home meant that I was recording from a very young age.

Who are your musical heroes?
My musical heroes are Michael Jackson, Tupac and Biggie

If you could collaborate with anyone who would you choose?
It would have to be Drake or Vybez Kartel

What inspired your new single ‘Say Narda’?
Dutch and myself wanted to make a club banger

Can fans expect an album from you soon?
I probably won’t release an album until 2019, but you can expect an EP and a mixtape next year.

Do you have any touring plans lined up?

If everything goes according to plan then I would hope to do a headline show in 2018.

What do you hope to achieve over the next ten years?
Over the next 10 years I want to build a huge fan base and more than anything else I want to be able to headline shows worldwide.
