Lydia Singer has the newest pop sound you’ve been looking for. At only 15 years old, the multi-talented singer/songwriter has so much to offer with her latest record “Just Being 15.” CelebMix got to chat with the future popstar about her music, celebrity idols, and everything in between.

What inspired you to become a singer?
When I was little I used to sing along to the Disney tunes and people would comment how nice they thought my voice was at such a young age. Only at the age 9 when I entered my first music competition and won did I seriously think about having a career in the music industry.
What’s your favorite thing about performing?
Favourite thing about performing is probably being up on the stage because it gives me such a rush of adrenaline, also pleasing the audience.
Who are some of idols?
Ariana Grande has been an inspiration of mine for quite some time as I love how she can hit notes so effortlessly. I’ve also recently become a fan of Charlie Puth because of his new single “Attention”.

Describe your sound to us.
Commercial pop, always keeping up to date with what’s current.
How do you create a song?
Different every time. Sometimes I have a burst of inspiration or a tune randomly comes to me and I record it, other times I’ll be in the recording studio with a producer and we’ll listen to current popular tracks to decide what vibe our next song is going to have, then I’ll suggest a couple of my favourite songs and how I want my next track to have the same feel as them.

What do you want people to know about you?
I’m a singer/songwriter wanting to have a successful career in the music industry. I recently had one top ten club chart hit and have had another two top 20- it was so amazing to see my name next to big artists such as Calvin Harris and Lady Gaga.
If you didn’t sing, which profession would you choose?
Perhaps writing songs for other people to sing because I’ve enjoyed writing music from a young age. I’m also at a school, similar to The Brit School, and they encourage students like myself to pursue a career in the music industry.
Anything currently in the works for you?
Actively in the studio continuing to build my catalog. I’ve written 15 songs and have just released my first EP, “Just Being 15”. I’m preparing for London and Cambridge Fashion Week, which is televised on Sky TV. I’m also currently doing lots of music videos to get ready for my 2nd EP entitled “Rebellious Teen” which shall be released next year, then the 3rd EP at the beginning of 2019.
