Restless Streets are a five piece melodic rock band from Albany, NY. Made up of Logan Carpenter, Brandon John, John Alund, Brian Nellis and Aaron Uline, the band create their sound as an extension of their own personal lives and experiences.
With new music on the way, including the release of their forthcoming EP, 2017 is set to be a huge year for Restless Streets. We recently got the chance to ask vocalist Logan about the band’s EP, how Albany has influenced the band and what the rest of 2017 has in store.
Hi guys, welcome to CelebMix! How has 2017 treated you so far?
This year has been very busy, and very exciting for us so far. We have been working hard to have an incredible release, and we know it will be our biggest yet.
For those who are unfamiliar with Restless Streets, please introduce yourself with a little-known fact about yourselves.
We are all very loving people. We enjoy trying new things, and taking risks.
You recently released ‘A Little More Us’, what can you tell us about it?
We released ‘A Little More Us’ two weeks ago with a music video. People have really been digging it so far. The song is about heartbreak and how we deal with moving on from someone. There are references to the ocean and to water in the song. “When you were caught up in the wave, did you still act the same” refers to someone who gets lured out of their relationship by their fascination with someone new. I talk about seeing the bigger picture and believing that if someone is meant to find their way back to you, they will in time.
Your EP will be released later this year. What can we expect from it?
Our EP “Together” comes out April 28th. This cd is something we hold very close to our hearts. We really gave a piece of ourselves to this record, and it’s something we can be proud of and love for the rest of our lives. It’s a much different sounding collection than our previous releases. This cd is really melodic and calming at certain points. At others it’s poppy, and driving. Always catchy, always loud. We want to make people dance, and make out with the person next to them.
Can you give us a little teaser by sharing your favourite lyric from the EP?

You’ve been writing music together for over ten years now – how did you first decide to form the band?
Brandon and I were both into a local band called Graystar at the time we met. My brother Kyle played guitar with them for a few years. Brandon reached out to their singer asking if he knew any solid local musicians that wanted to form a band. He ended up getting a hold of my number and we met up shortly after. We were only 14 years old so I had Brandon over to my parents house and he played me some of the music he had written. I loved his style right from the start and we began writing together. At that point I (Logan) had been drumming and singing for Restless. Brandon and I have been writing together ever since.
Has music always been your dream career path or did you plan on doing something else?
I have always wanted to be free and creative for a living.
What one thing from your hometown of Albany would you say has influenced you the most musically?
There used to be a larger number of really small clubs, and VFW type venues in our area, that created a really cool scene. Many of them have since shut down or stopped hosting events which is depressing, but in our younger days, I think the enthusiasm and growth of our scene really helped shape us as performers.

What are your must have items for when you’re on the road?
Water jugs, lots of pillows, phone, skateboards, frisbee, football, weights.
What else can we expect from Restless Streets throughout the rest of the year?
We are going to be hitting the road to support this release and we want to see our friends from all over the world when we come to their city/ country. We can’t wait to keep releasing the work that we’ve spent the last year creating!!!
