New York based pop artist Sydney Jaffe has recently released her brand new single ‘Reckless’ which showcases the 18-year-old’s carefree side with a sexy twist.
Here we speak exclusively to Sydney Jaffe about her musical inspirations, music memories, new release, and much, much more;
Growing up who inspired your love of music?
When I was really young, I was always listening to and aspiring to be a Broadway star or to be like Hannah Montana or the Cheetah Girls. As I got older, however, I was always listening to P!nk and Coldplay and constantly singing every piece of new music they would come out with over the early 2000s.
What are your earliest music memories?
Well I went to see Mamma Mia! on Broadway with my mom and I don’t know what came over me, but that experience really made me want to be a performer. I remember going home afterwards and turning on the first song I could think of and I tried to create my own musical number with that song. I knew in that moment, that music would always be a crucial part of my life.
What would be your dream collaboration?
I am so inspired by the way that Demi Lovato creates such a contemporary and dramatic sound while remaining so incredibly authentic at the same time, which is why I would stop anything I’m doing to get a chance to work with her on just one song.
What inspired your new single ‘Reckless’?
There was someone in my life at the time who I was always talking to about doing different and wild things. I am always up for an adventure, so these conversations never really ended and I was just really inspired to talk about it in the fun and exciting way this song puts forth.
What do you hope listeners take from the track?
I really want people to get that there is a point in our lives where we have to to stop waiting to have some fun and do some things that we never believed we would, or even could do. I love that this track is fun and different because it really makes the listener want to dance and go do something a little bit reckless and crazy.
When can we expect an album from you?
I’m hoping to get an EP out soon, but I think right now I am working on releasing more original music and giving my audiences a fluid sound to listen for in all of my songs.
Do you have any touring plans lined up?
Right now, there isn’t anything planned, but you never know!
What are your 2018 career goals?
I am looking forward to releasing more of my own stuff this year and forming a fanbase that follows my music. I just turned 18, so I really just want to establish myself as a true musician in the industry this year, and show everyone what I’m made of.
