This year he released his huge collaboration with dance music vocalist INNA on ‘Party Songs’ which has already amassed 1 million streams and scaled charts across Europe.
Hi Gamuel, thank you so much for taking the time to chat with us today. We loved your single with INNA ‘Party Songs’, can you tell us about the inspiration behind the track?
Certainly! “Party Songs,” the collaborative single with INNA, it’s a homage to the golden era of Electronic Dance Music (EDM), drawing inspiration from the ones who sculpted the sonic landscape of this genre. By interweaving contemporary elements with timeless EDM aesthetics, the song melds the past and present seamlessly, ushering in a sense of continuity and evolution within the genre. The collaboration with INNA injects a fresh dynamism, infusing the composition with her distinctive vocals.
Now you’re releasing your latest production ‘Early In The Morning’ how would you describe the differences between the tracks?
‘Party Songs’ carries danceable and radio-friendly energy, radiating those positive vibes. Similarly, ‘Early In The Morning‘ exudes vibrant vibes but also introduces elements of club and soulful sounds that I’m passionate about. It’s a perfect blend of catchy, classy, and soulful, tailored for both radio airplay and the club scene.
What do you aim for your audience to experience when they listen to your music?
My aim is to offer a sense of escapism and positivity through my music. I want listeners to, maybe for a moment, set aside their worries and connect with the melodies, whether they’re commuting, exercising, or simply enjoying life. I aspire to provide a source of joy and inspiration, allowing them to immerse themselves in the moment and find comfort in the music.
Your discography has some wicked collaborations on it, do you find your sound/production process differs much when producing solo? Do you prefer one to the other?
Certainly, my sound and production approach vary between solo projects and collaborations. When working alone, I delve deep into my personal style and ideas, fostering an intimate creative process devoid of external influences.
Collaborations add a layer of complexity, blending diverse perspectives and skills. The magic of collaboration lies in its ability to create something beyond individual efforts. These experiences also offer invaluable learning opportunities—exposing me to fresh techniques and insights from fellow creatives, contributing to my growth.
Where do you find your creativity from? I saw you recently went on a writing camp, do you feel method aids your creativity? Are there external factors that you find have an impact your creativity, both negatively and positively?
My creative process isn’t fixed. It’s a mix of spontaneous ideas and feelings. Even negative emotions like anger can sometimes help me create something unique. Writing camps, like the recent one, really help. They inspire me and I make new connections that lead to breakthroughs. But sometimes, bad things like stress can hurt my creativity. Still, they make me think and grow. Basically, I create from my own feelings, things around me, and how they all come together.
How did you originally get into producing music and have you always been producing dance music?
My journey began with DJing, sparking curiosity about the production process behind the music I admired. I explored various genres, starting with Deep House and transitioning to more underground sounds with my Back2Black project. This journey eventually led me back to my roots, embracing Deep House and Dance genres. My versatility as a producer allows me to experiment across genres, invigorating my creative perspective.
You’ve performed at some of Italy’s top clubs, what’s been your most memorable performance and why?
Among my performances, sharing the stage with DJ SNAKE at Number One Disco remains unforgettable. The blend of excitement and reverence, being near such an influential artist, coupled with the crowd’s energy, solidified my musical journey.
What can people expect from your DJ sets? Do you always stick to the house genre and are there any essential tunes that you play at every set?
I enjoy engaging with quality content when I play music. Typically, I’m not particularly drawn to original pieces as I often find them less captivating, especially if they’re currently popular. I prefer discovering well-crafted remixes, as this tends to maintain an enthusiastic and engaged audience. My focus primarily lies within the realm of House music, but I like to infuse it with various other elements I appreciate, such as hip-hop remixes and mash-ups. Additionally, I’ve curated a selection of essential tracks that consistently make an appearance in all of my sets. Attending one of my sets would give you the chance to experience these tunes first hand!
At still such a young age, you’ve already achieved so much musically. What have been your career highlights so far?
While I consider myself in the early stages, international radio plays and support from notable DJs have affirmed my belief in my creations. Such experiences, though daunting to highlight, underscore my journey’s direction.
With the backing of Dance Differently, my new label team, I’m eager to realize lifelong dreams. The journey has only just begun, and I’m excited for what’s to come.
Finally, what’re you’re plans for the rest of the year? Any exciting shows or projects we can look out for?
