Josephina is an exciting rising talent who stared her career aged just 16 and recently released her debut self-titled EP which combines her playful lyricism with an electro-pop sensibility and features production from The Stereotypes.
Here we speak exclusively to Josephina to discuss her new record, musical experiences and more:
During your childhood who inspired your love of music?
Ever since I was young music was huge in my household. My mom would always play music non stop throughout the house, so I would say my mom’s love of music inspired my love of today.
Who are your all time musical heroes?
I absolutely love Billie Holiday
How much do you feel you have evolved since you started aged 16?
Wow so much. Not only musically but also in every aspect of life. Of course I’m still a baby at 21 so I have a lot more growing to do!
How did your parents feel about you working in the industry at such a young age?
My whole family is very supportive of my music and I couldn’t be more grateful.
How excited are you to have released your debut EP?
I can’t believe that its finally out!!!! I am beyond excited I have been working and writing so much and I’m incredibly grateful for all of my supporters who are showing love for my music.
What has been the main inspiration behind the record?
Each song has a different inspiration. but overall I find inspiration everywhere whether it is friendship,relationships,a funny story… i mean inspiration is everywhere you just have to find it.
What do you hope fans take from the EP?
In my opinion one of the most special things about music is the ability to make each song your own story. So I honestly just hope that they listen and make it their own <3
