Here we speak exclusively to Malv about his music career, new releases, future plans and more:
Growing up who inspired your love of music?
It was actually a variety of artists from different genre’s that inspired me to do music. From artists such as Don Williams, Dolly Parton, Marvin Gaye, Take That, Boys 2 Men, LL Cool J and more.
Who are your life long musical inspirations?
I would say Akon, T Pain, Marvin Gaye, Kanye West, Timberland, Ryan Leslie and Pharrell.
Do you have any collaborations lined up for 2018?
Yeah, I have a lot of collabs coming, some from artists I’m helping out, some from friends that do music and some from some familiar names in the music scene. So keep an eye out for these different flavours of bangers.
Your new single is out now, how excited have you been by the response?
I’ve been happy with the results. The single is getting a lot of coverage and attention and people are genuinely loving it, so I can’t complain. I guess the sauce is spreading.
What is the main inspiration behind your new track?
I wouldn’t say there was inspiration, it’s more of a feeling that I just felt at the time and just needed to express it on a track. I was just in a good mood and just felt hyped and I just felt like turning the hype into a track for people to feel hype to as well.
How would you describe your sound to new listeners?
I’ll describe my sound as urban bounce with a mix of afro and dancehall.
Can we expect an album from you soon?
Not for now, but who knows, I might feel like surprising people. But I do have an E.P project coming soon.
Do you have any touring plans lined up?
Yes indeed, I have a couple of shows this year, iLuvLive, XOYO and a show back home in Zimbabwe. I still have more pending.
What are your long term career goals?
I want to reach into all areas of the music industry as possible aside from just being an artist and producer, and I also want to venture into the business world as well. But all in good time, right now I having fun as an artist.
