With millions of listeners on Spotify alone, Corry has developed a powerful and incredibly dedicated international fanbase. His newest releases bring something new and fresh to the electronic music scene and have not gone unnoticed by music fans as a result. After collaborating with a plethora of impressive acts, the popular producer looks forward to continuing to work with even larger names in the industry. In an exclusive interview with CelebMix, Joel Corry opens up about fans, upcoming remixes and more.

What led you to release a remix of Anabel Englund’s ‘See The Sky’?

I have always been a big fan of Anabel, so when I was given the opportunity to remix her new single, I jumped at it!

Are there any other remixes you can tease that fans can look forward to hearing soon?

I have a new remix for Stormzy coming out soon which I am very excited about. I remixed his hit record ‘Own It’ which features Ed Sheeran and Burna Boy. I am also working on remixes for Major Lazer and Oliver Heldens.

Your track ‘Sorry’ received an incredibly positive response and has become a massive success. Did you ever expect it to blow up like that?

I don’t think you ever expect your first hit record. It is something I have dreamed about and worked towards my whole life. I am so happy that the record connected with lots of people, and I am grateful for all the support.

Speaking of positivity and success, your fans are so dedicated and supportive of all of your projects. How does it feel to have this type of support?

It is the best feeling, and inspires me to do what I do. When I meet people at my gigs, and when I read messages on social media, it fills me with positivity and motivates me to keep working harder.

Do you ever think back to the Geordie Shore days? What did that experience teach you that still applies to your life as an artist/producer?

I have amazing memories from that period of my life and am grateful for the opportunity. I think that experience gave me the confidence to be in front of a camera and have a better understanding of the media world.

If you could collaborate with anyone in the music industry, who would it be and why?

A dream collaboration would be [with] Kanye West. He is one of the most creative artists of our generation. It would be unreal to be in the studio with him and see his process. I would love to hear Kanye spit bars on some house beats!

What can fans look forward to in the near or distant future?

I am working hard on preparing my next single, and I also have lots of new remixes coming out. I am looking forward to touring again once things get back to normal, but until then, I am enjoying the live-streaming from my house.
