October might be coming to an end, but country-pop singer-songwriter Lena Stone is rounding off the month in perfect fashion with the lyric video to her latest single.
Back in May, Lena released her incredible self-titled debut EP and at the end of last month she made a triumphant return with her dreamy new single, ‘October’. The gentle fall-inspired ballad depicts a beautiful love story which is over far too quickly, comparing it to the tenth month of the year, which almost always flies by in a blink of an eye.
On the penultimate day of the month, Lena is bringing ‘October’ to life by releasing the official lyric video for the track. Speaking about it, the songstress said: “‘October’ is all about the lyrics and the story, so I just knew a lyric video would be the perfect visual representation for the song!”
The striking lyric video is a simple yet effective performance piece. Lena is seen walking down a road surrounded by beautiful trees, whilst singing the poignant ballad. The lyrics appear on screen in a handwritten-style font, which makes us imagine Lena writing the lyrics in an old diary in the past. The visual matches the delicate nature of the song and truly allows the emotion of the lyrics to take centre stage.
Speaking about filming the lyric video, Lena said: “We found the most beautiful road outside of Nashville that had the perfect fall vibe, and it had just rained when we shot the video so there was this glow off the pavement that made it feel so special.”
“I really wanted this video to feel as honest as the song itself, so I did my own hair and makeup, and wore my favorite jeans. The only people on set were me and the videographer, and I was really able to dig into the emotion of the lyrics.”
