andd Spence Suede (age 17) return with new single ‘Mulholland Drive’. The latest release sees the rising stars blend kick-drums with arpeggiating synths which work to create a strong ambient sound that melts with the trios stunning vocals.
Their harmonies blend smoothly into the songs synths which creates a content for the track without distracting the listeners from feeling the beat.
‘Mulholland Drive’ is a song that sits with you in the passenger seat rather than grabbing the steering wheel and getting in the driver’s face. The bridge sits neatly towards outro and with it being just under 4 minutes it is a perfect escape.
Speaking about the track, The Sires’ Benn, says: “The song is reminiscent of my brother & I’s time moving to LA a few years ago & reaching for the stars. The song is a bit of an ode to the graveyard of dreams that resides in Cali, & to all those who’s dreams were realized. The song captures a playfully sarcastic tone about how amazing California is, because it is…. it always seemed inviting but that place/environment was much more savage than my brother and I had initially anticipated.“It’s waiting for ya, you’re gonna find better days in California, under the sunshine & haze, up on Mulholland Drive…” The song has a very 80’s dance-pop tone to it & sets a night drive perfectly”.
