Danny Zee has just released a new music video for his latest single ‘Blue Butterfly’.
‘Blue Butterfly’, directed by Ash Gupta of 838 Media Group, stars Danny Zee alongside Slovenian actress Inja Zalta. The video gives life to Zee’s vulnerable lyricism and highlights the emotive parts to the single, thus showing his multidimensionality as an artist.

Inspired by artists such as Daniel Caesar, Frank Ocean and John Mayer, ‘Blue Butterfly’ is the first single from Danny Zee’s upcoming album, set for an early release in 2020. It contains dreamy vocals, combines elements of R&B, soul and conveys the longing of an old love.
” ‘Blue butterfly’ was an emoji-symbol of love in my last relationship. It was that one emoji she would send to me to let me know everything will be alright, and vice versa. It became our ‘I love you’, ‘I miss you’, ‘I’m here for you’. It was OUR thing. We would always say to each other, ‘you’re my blue butterfly’, which is why I included it as the exact lyric in the song. But as a butterfly is meant to fly out of its cocoon, so did we. And we are no more together, and hence, the longing and yearning for her gave birth to this track.”
LA-based Zee ventured into music with his performance of ‘Muntazir’ at the Pakistani television programme, Coke Studio. Inspired by the performance to focus on music and show who he really is as an artist, Danny Zee spent two years locked away in the studio and released his first original single “Ek Aur Ek 3”. The song blew up and reached 5 million views on YouTube in two weeks.
