Elodie Rêverie is a modern flower child jet setting back and forth from Brooklyn to Los Angeles who has just released her latest single titled “Gold Rush”. An ambitiously independent woman that Stevie Nicks would call her own, she elevates the nostalgic vibrance of the ’60s and ’70s and brings her own electronic flow to excite and inspire others.
Elodie Rêverie wrote “Gold Rush” in a two week period where she was unable to hear after an accident in the studio. The playback was set too high and ruptured her eardrum, leaving her unable to be anywhere near the music. In the two week isolation, she was vulnerable and found herself creating an inspirational anthem reminiscent of her 70’s musical heroes.
“Gold Rush” allows the listener to explore their deepest desires, the dreams that keep them up at night. This latest single “Gold Rush” is her ode to her passion project and for taking a leap of faith in herself, where she has put her all in it and not looking back. Elodie’s ethereal voice juxtaposed with the vibrant beats and piano create an unstoppable momentum within.
“Elodie’s amazing voice – which is equal parts ethereal and penetrating – works perfectly with the fusion of genres she creates in the studio. Anything from EDM to pop to house to disco to funk, and more, is her playground.”
Growing up constantly surrounded by music through her jazz enthusiast father, Elodie found herself through the records of the greats: The Rolling Stones, Dusty Springfield and Fleetwood Mac just to name a few. But her introduction to her creation of music was through her film class in college where she had to create a documentary. She always loved singing but had never written a song. The subject of the documentary was her trials and tribulations of writing a song for the first time.
Elodie picked this topic because she thought her failure would create an interesting story arch. However, she found out that she actually has a talent for it. Elodie then decided that she wanted to pursue singing/songwriting as a career and the rest is history. It wasn’t until her college years that she would begin her songwriting endeavors.
Her debut single, “Rêverie” garnered over 14K streams to date on SoundCloud. As a believer of the subjectivism of music – to Elodie, this song is about finding the metaphorical gold inside others and the daunting task of uprooting your life without the guarantee of success. Elodie is hoping that “Gold Rush” can bring out the unconscious aspirations in all of us. Inspired by the mid-1800s California Gold Rush, Elodie saw a parallel of others uprooting their lives without a guarantee of success in her own musical journey.
