‘Burn’ is Glass Hour’s first ever mainstream release and is the lead single off their upcoming debut album ‘Minute Hand’. The LP is due for release on August 18th, and is ultimately a break-up record, an illustration of love, recovery, and heartbreak.
Their new single ‘Burn’ speaks of a an abrupt silence, and unfamiliar territories. And also the uncertainty of allowing somebody to slowly fade away from your memory. ‘Burn’, sees a change to Glass Hour’s sound and sees their style slightly drift, bringing electronic elements into the mix to make an upbeat, catchy tune while still incorporating the familiar piano and guitar sound fans have come to love expect from the group.
Speaking about ‘Burn’, Glass Hour’s front-man says: “I wrote ‘Burn’ in a period of unsteadiness and silence. It was a first for me, not knowing what to do, where to go or how to feel about someone after living in an emotionally stable state for years. ‘Burn’ questions all of your passing thoughts when choosing whether to welcome someone back with open arms or to let them fade into the abyss. Musically, I wanted to find a balance between the Glass Hour sound we’ve come to establish and some electronic elements that aren’t as present on the rest of the album. I think together they made for a pretty cool rock-pop-electronic mix”.
Glass Hour also opened up about what they want listeners to take away from their latest single, saying: “All I can wish for is that it helps someone get one step further through whatever is haunting their thoughts at this very moment. Just know that there are tons of people feeling the exact same way as you. Things always unwind, so go with the flow, don’t stress too much, and let time be your guide”.
