GRVCELYN (Gracelyn Rennick) is a 20 year-old pop singer, songwriter, pianist, drummer, guitarist, and actor from New England. She’s also a BAD*SS FEMALE WARRIOR in our eyes.
By the age of 12, GRVCELYN had moderate bilateral hearing loss and now suffers from hearing loss of about 40%. But that didn’t stop her from following her dreams. By the age of 9, she was teaching herself guitar, by 13 she was playing piano and drums, and by 14 she was writing her own music.
With chronic illnesses including neurological Lyme disease, Mitochondrial disorder, seizure disorder, and neurotoxin illness, GRVCELYN continues to follow her dreams as she attends an alternative/creativity based school in the inner city, where she’s pursuing music. And we’re absolutely thankful for that, because that’s where her new single, “GIRLS,” comes in.
With lyrics like, “I can live a life that I was born to do / I can kiss and tell / I can scream and yell / Not to worry now I’m gonna raise some hell / Its been nice to know you / Girls will run the world and you know that it’s true,” and “I don’t wanna listen to a second of you telling me what I can’t do,” this track is another song to add to your list of female power anthems.
As soon as the beat hits, GRVCELYN captivates your attention with her beautiful voice and fierce lyrics. And trust us, that’s not easy to do.

We asked GRVCELYN what the meaning behind “GIRLS” was, and she said, “Ever since I started writing songs, I knew that I wanted my songs to have meaning and impact. One thing that I have always been passionate about, as long as I can remember, is women empowerment and women’s rights.”
“The song “GIRLS” is about being a female in a society where we are looked at as being inferior,” says GRVCELYN. “In this song, I step up and say that it is possible to be superior as a female and to do anything with your life. The song means a lot to me because, in my short life, I have already had to overcome a great deal of obstacles. I hope to inspire other girls to become amazing women. Together we can accomplish great things!”
With “GIRLS” being such a great song with a powerful meaning behind it, we’re absolutely honored to premiere it at CelebMix!
