Today, jazz inspired rock band Juice has released their cover of “Bellyache” by Billie Eilish. The cover is a jazzy take on the young innovator’s darkly beguiling track. Check out the exclusive premiere of the video below:
The black and white video perfectly compliments the noir influenced reinterpretation of the track. The smooth instrumentation of the verses lead into a guitar-heavy chorus with vocals that set the scene of the murderous tale described in the lyrics.
“Billie inspires us a lot. She and Finneas are honest innovators and their art excites us about the future of music.” The guys said of the cover, “‘Bellyache’ is a certified slapper – we had fun exploring the arrangement while pushing the limits of our sound even further. Hope you enjoy :)”
The Boston septet, made up of Ben Stevens (lead vocals), Christian Rose (violin, vocals), Kamau Burton (acoustic guitar, vocals), Daniel Moss (guitar), Michael Ricciardulli (guitar), Rami El-Abidin (bass), and Miles Clyatt (drums), released their latest EP, Workin’ On Lovin’ last year. The band’s latest single “DAVE (turn the music down)” is a funky track that retells the classic tale of older generations just not understanding the young. Juice has been breaking through to major platforms with a performance on The Today Show and as well as being recognized as an Artist of the Month by Elvis Duran. The band recently announced their “What’s Ur Genre” summer tour, kicking off on June 7th at New York City’s Gramercy Theatre.
