MwS return with their brand new single ‘Island’. The new release comes on the back of their breakout debut EP reaching over 250K streams and after they permanently moved over to the UK from Italy. They made the bold move to live in Britain on the day the UK voted to leave the EU in the Referendum.
The decided to be based in Britain as there is very little hunger for Soul & R’n’B in their native Italy at this moment in time. Although the duo recount working with other talented musicians and producers, as well as support from premium Italian station Radio Capital, the scene is unquestionably stronger over here in the UK so a move was always on the cards.
However, the whole plan was nearly derailed early on as the pair booked tickets into the UK on the very day we decided to leave the European Union. Of the whole experience, the pair state: “The Brexit decision made us feel a bit uneasy about heading to the UK only at the beginning.. We have a lot of faith in London, which we know is a very open city that somehow needs people from all over the world. We knew that this was the place for our music so we had to make it happen regardless”
And now they are back with their brand new single ‘Island’. Speaking about their latest release, MwS say: “When we left Italy and moved to London to bring our music in this amazing scene, it felt a lot like starting from scratch. We wrote ‘Island’ shortly after, feeling like two survivors of a shipwreck, trying to build their dreams in an unknown place full of possibilities. This song also happens to be the first we produced and recorded in London – so it’s our way of giving back to this city that welcomed us and in which we feel we can best develop our music path.”
