Barry Locke is an exciting rising talent who hails from Northern Ireland and is now based in London. The singer/songwriter has spent the last two years working with music producer Carl Falck of the Rooftop Records London, on his debut LP ‘O N E’ which is due for release later this year.
The upcoming record is essentially an autobiographical concept album. Locke has always looked inward to explore themes and narratives from his own life experiences that are easily understood. They examine the nature of ‘self’ as endless knot of indecision to resolve.
Back in February of this year, Barry Locke released the first single off the LP; ‘T O M B S‘ and now he is back with his latest release ‘I Knew The Boy Who Cried Wolf’. This single is more upbeat than previous material, as he takes to writing with a full rock band arrangement.
Speaking about the inspiration and story behind his new single, Barry Locke says: “‘In I Knew The Boy Who Cried Wolf’ we are dealing with the betrayal of self. The song is about letting people in and allowing them to manipulate you. It’s a song about becoming the very thing you’ve been victim to in the past and realising that you are the Wolf all along. It’s the used becoming the user and betraying yourself to your inner beast.”
