Gabriella Vixen is an exciting, fast rising talent from Kent. She has loved performing since a young age but only started taking music seriously back in 2016. Back then she was demoing track for British superstar Rita Ora and Gabriella caught the attention of esteemed producer Freedo [Zara Larsson] who immediately asked her to sing on his debut release, which racked up over half a million streams in a matter of weeks – no mean feat for a debut.
Since that break, Vixen has teamed up with a number of world class music producers including DK The Punisher [Anderson Paak, Justin Bieber] and has also had performed on renowned stages such as iLuvLive, Ronnie Scotts, Sofar Sounds. Her sound is an intoxicating mix of genres such as RnB, Soul and Pop.
Now, she is back with her brand new release ‘Old Mistake’. The single has been by produced Eddie Serafica [Emeli Sande, The XX, Plan B] and it spins a relatable narrative that speaks from a place close to Gabriella Vixen’s heart, and affirms the strength in the realisation that follows that brief heartwarming moment, once we snap back into reality.
Speaking about the song, Gabriella says: “Old mistake is about the empowering realisation that comes after that brief moment that we all at some point have experienced. When you bump into someone from your past, a flash of memories, followed by belly flipping butterflies, losing the ability to talk without stuttering, rosy cheeks and even an exchange of new numbers. The understanding that some people have been given more than enough chances, enough of our valuable time and energy, and those good times we fantasize about, were actually just one off peaks in a chart of a very mediocre relationship/friendship. Old Mistake is about finding the strength to bump into someone from your past, someone who you thought you loved, but treated you badly and finding the strength to leave them in the past, where they belong. Without making that same Old Mistake”.
