LA-based rising singer-songwriter Rudy Touzet recently released his latest single, “Contigo” featuring Teddi, and listeners are eager as ever to hear what he will be releasing next. This care-free track makes you want to head straight for the dance floor with that special someone and forget about the rest of the world. “Contigo” follows the release of Touzet’s addictive electronic dance track, “Play Me Again,” which ironically will have you hitting replay more than once. In an exclusive interview with CelebMix, Rudy Touzet opens up about his latest single, dream collaborations and more.
What can you tell us about your new single “Contigo” and the inspiration behind it?
I actually wrote this song two years ago in my dorm room after a night out. I wanted to make a song that got people on the dance floor with lyrics that are easy for everyone to sing out!
How does this song differ from the music you have released in the past?
This is song is very different from my past releases. It’s in English and Spanish and it’s more tropical and has a beachy feel to it.
You worked with Teddi on this track! How did that collaboration come about?
Teddi is actually my roommate! I got him to write a verse a couple years ago and when my producers sent me a different version of the song, I immediately called him up and said you have to get on this!
Who else would you like to collaborate with in the future?
I would love to collaborate with so many artists! I don’t have a specific person in mind, but anyone who is going through the same situations I write about would be an awesome experience to work with.
Can listeners expect more music like this coming soon? What do you have planned for the rest of the year?
Yes! I actually just finished putting together all of my projects for 2021! I have many more songs coming, but the summer EP is on the way which I’m so excited for everyone to hear.
What can fans look forward to in the near or distant future?
I would love to be able to perform or record a live stream performance for them! I think they are really going to freak out with the upcoming songs! “Contigo” is just a little taste of what’s [to come].
