Sigala is known for his massively successful singles and collaborations like “Came Here For Love” and “Lasting Lover.” Throughout the course of his career, the international hitmaker has captured the attention of listeners from all around the world with his intricate production and undeniable energy. Now, the multi-platinum British artist, producer, and DJ is back with new music and fans can’t get enough. In an exclusive interview with CelebMix, Sigala opens up about working with MNEK on “Radio,” the creation of its music video, and what else fans can look forward to seeing from him soon.

What can you tell us about your recently released track “Radio” in collaboration with MNEK and the inspiration behind that single?

I wanted to work with MNEK for a long time. I’ve been a fan of his music for years [and[ I wanted to do something different. Obviously it’s pop and dances in line with my music…but, from a production perspective, I wanted to do something fresh. There’s a lot of early 2000’s inspired bits and off-beat bass lines. I’m really happy with the way it turned out.

What was it like to work with MNEK?

It was awesome working with MNEK. I think the guy is an absolute genius. He’s one the most talented writers and singers I’ve worked with. It was sick working with him. Hopefully we can do it again!

You recently released an amazing music video for “Radio” on Youtube. How did the concept for that video come about? Are you happy with the end result?

I loved the video. I love making music videos! It’s something I’ve really been involved in since day one. I love creating the visual element to the song. The whole idea of this “Radio Man” and the struggles of having a radio as a head was hilarious. Visually [it’s] really cool as well!

Fans are absolutely loving “Radio” and the extended version of it as well! Can they look forward to hearing new music from you soon?

Absolutely! I’ve been building towards my second album Every Cloud, coming this September. It’s going to have a bunch of stuff I released already and a whole load of new tunes. It’ll be exciting for people to hear it. I’ve worked with awesome artists and singers [and I’m] really excited for everyone to hear it!

You have worked with some incredible artists over the past few years. Who else would you love to work with in the future?

I’m honored to work with so many incredible artists. TIESTO, Tom Grennan, Chris Martin, and Ed Sheeran are still a few on my hit list.

Out of all of the tracks that you have released so far, which song do you most enjoy performing live that you never get sick of?

Probably “Wish You Well.” It is the one that the crowd sings at 100 percent volume. It’s incredible! That sort of experience never gets old. It’s one big belting tune in the chorus. Hearing people sing that back is always amazing.

What else do you have planned for 2023?

Aside from the album, I’ve got a tour. [I’m] starting off with the UK and then heading over to the U.S. Also, festivals in the summer. I’ll be going to a studio in Thailand for a songwriters retreat and [will] hopefully come back with stuff I can put out later this year!
