Every year, EXO try and release a winter single to celebrate the season with their fans. Continuing with their tradition, the group has released a single this year as well. Today, EXO dropped the music video for their new Christmas song “Universe”.
“Universe” resents the absence of a loved one from one’s life. But at the same time, it carries hope that assures the listener of reunion. Like most of their Christmas songs, “Universe” too carries a calm tune and melancholic mood that one usually relates to winters.
All the members look dapper as they take up the role of barista, offering a cup of warm coffee. The warm coffee along with other objects used in the music video symbolise bonding and nostalgia.
While the song talks about loss, it also depicts the possibility of a resolution. As the year 2017 approaches its end, the song is a beautiful reminder for us to overcome our differences and reconcile with our closed ones.
The single is part of group’s Christmas album with the same name. The album was released along with the single and is now available on all major music platforms including iTunes and Spotify.
