There is a saying that goes, you have a “flair for the dramatic.” That expression, as you may know, speaks to a person’s exaggerated behavior in order to entertain. That theatrical quality comes to life in synth-pop project Fake Dad’s latest single “So Dramatic!”. The charismatic track showcases bold, moody vocals that effortlessly fuse English and Spanish. Sassy lines like, “I’m so dramatic, actin’ like I’m drowning on the Titanic” make the piece instantly relatable. Most of us can remember at least one time our larger-than-life personas were put on full display. “So Dramatic!” encourages the inner drama queen to be unleashed in all of us.
Andrea de Varona and Josh Ford, the team that make up Fake Dad, are a Los Angeles-based striking synth pop meets indie rock pair. The two are definitely carving a unique path in the music scene. The single is off of the duo’s upcoming EP, Yerba Mala. The offering examines the complex nature of interwoven relationships. This release is the ideal addition with its fiery dive into a world of melodramatics.
