The music industry’s biggest celebration, the annual Grammy Awards, is renowned for more risqué and memorable fashion moments that go down in the history. Are you curious to know which celebrities slayed the 2023 red-carpet fashion and made it to our best-dressed stars list?
The 65th annual Grammy Awards garnered enormous attention from both media and fans on the internet thanks to many prominent moments and historic wins including Harry Styles’ triumph for “Album of the Year” for his 2022 studio album “Harry’s House” and Queen Beyoncé’s breaking the record for most GRAMMY wins in the history of award ceremony with her 79 nominations.
But it wouldn’t be music’s biggest night without a radical fashion moment or many. No one has ever accused the Grammy Awards red carpet of being bland, as it persistently serves the most exquisite and unprecedented fashion moments and drool-worthy pop culture styles that will continue to inspire designers and fashionistas for years to come.
The industry’s biggest music stars flocked to Los Angeles for the 2023 Grammy Awards, and all these A-list artists truly upped the ante on the red carpet donning astounding ensembles soaked in sequins, feathers, crystals and chains — whether it was with over-the-top capes, long, sweeping trains, frilly fringes, fresh off the runway haute couture or multi-colour patterns.
Below are the 13 best-dressed celebrities at the 2023 Grammy Awards red carpet who made it to our list of biggest fashion moments this year!
Lizzo
The “About Damn Time” singer is a virtuoso and the epitome of red carpet couture fashion who knows exactly how to turn heads and grab attention. This year, at the Grammy Awards, she donned a striking, bright orange-hued Dolce & Gabbana corset couture gown comprising a corset top and matching skirt with sheer fingerless gloves. Lizzo accessorized her look with a dramatic, matching hooded cape embroidered with silk flowers, looking like a “tangerine dream,” along with two large diamond rings and a little swirl of hair on her forehead adding to perfection.
Taylor Swift
The “Midnight” singer Taylor Swift stepped it up a notch at the Grammy Awards by donning a custom Roberto Cavalli ensemble and exuding confidence and midnight beauty vibes in this unique look: a two-piece ensemble with a cut-out waist, in precious silk cady in shades of night blue. The crop top, with long sleeves and turtleneck, is entirely hand-embroidered with silver Swarovski crystals and sparkling rhinestones peppered all over. Swift accented her look with $3 million worth of purple sapphire jewels from Lorraine Schwartz. Majestical tones of blue, royal blue and sapphire create an explosive burst of stardust, truly fitting for Taylor’s star status.
Harry Styles
This year’s ‘Album of The Year’ awardee, Harry Styles, is known for experimenting with fashion and serving unconventional looks, and this time he brought the glitz to the Grammy Awards red carpet in not just one or two but three outfits. Harry donned a bespoke EGONLAB x Swarovski Crystal Couture jumpsuit strutting down the red carpet. This precious masterpiece of Couture savoir-faire featured 250,000 Swarovski crystals in 9 different colours and was entirely hand-made in Paris, requiring over 150 hours of precise work.
For his powerhouse performance at the 65th Annual GRAMMY Awards, Harry chose a custom sequin-embroidered Gucci look with fringes and shoes, spreading love in the air, everywhere.
Finally, for the rest of the night and during his acceptance speech, he chose a custom Gucci Tailoring look with a Gucci Horsebit 1955 bag at the 2023 GRAMMYs.
Jennifer Lopez
Jennifer Lopez made a surprise appearance at the 2023 Grammys wearing a glittery, plunging Gucci gown dripping with rhinestones and crystals with a long ruffled train and thigh-high slit, bringing western glam to the red carpet. J.Lo wowed the crowd in her glamorous navy blue Gucci gown looking like a graceful goddess, and she accessorized with equally glitzy accessories, including a duo of diamond-encrusted Bulgari Serpenti diamond necklaces.
Doja Cat
Doja Cat went the vampy route in a black, one-shouldered asymmetrical gown by Versace becoming the lady in latex at the 65th Annual GRAMMY Awards. She took a 180 degrees turn and abandoned the 30,000 scarlet Swarovski crystals behind from PFW in favour of a jet-black vinyl Atelier Versace gown comprising a train with an asymmetrical strap giving a twist-on-the-shoulder opening feature on a naked back and matching vinyl gloves. This look surely asserts her intentions for the “new era” that’s everything but fragile.
SZA
SZA sported Mugler Fall Winter 2022/23 serving one of the best Grammy Awards fashion looks, proving that cut-out naked dresses are still in full swing. She sizzled in a barely-there little black, asymmetrical naked dress, flaunting her fantastic figure giving an illusion of spiralling around the body and commanding attention from everyone.
Cardi B
Cardi B remains the red carpet couture goddess glorifying the pinnacle of feminine style as she opted for Gaurav Gupta Couture this year, the look that only debuted at Paris Fashion Week merely days before the award ceremony. In this avant-garde royal blue gown ensemble for rap royalty, oozing with drama and finesse, the rapper made a dramatic entrance to the Grammys red carpet donning this sculptural masterpiece that framed her face and famous curves just right, which needs to be placed in a museum or art gallery.
Kacey Musgraves
Kacey Musgraves served up another extravagant and intricate cape look, earning a spot on our list of the finest Grammy Awards fashion outfits. The “Star-Crossed” singer strutted down the red carpet in a gorgeous cape adorned with pink feathers, over a pastel pink catsuit from Valentino, and matching Stuart Weitzman stilettos; coming straight from the label’s Pre-Fall 23/24 collection. She balanced flamboyance and femininity by accessorising her look with Nicole Rose Jewellery, looking like a bubblegum beauty.
Brandi Carlile
Brandi Carlile attended Grammy Awarrds red carpet with their wife Catherine Shepherd donning a dazzling rhinestone-crusted black-and-pink Versace suit with shiny Oxfords. This black satin two-piece suit by Versace comprised a black silk duchesse embroidered coat with matching pants and a silk fuchsia button-down shirt with an ultra-skinny black tie.
Kim Petras
Both Sam Smith and Kim Petras went for a red-hot coordinated fashion entourage moment on the Grammys 2023 red carpet as they channelled “Unholy” vibes, looking like queer royalty! Kim Petras ruled the 2023 Grammy Awards red carpet donning a red ruffled dress with embellished pumps, looking stunning as they posed for the cameras, with sinfully delish cherry lips and MacCosmetics makeup, and their hair stood out but remain pristine and feminine.
Lourdes Leon
Madonna’s eldest daughter and American singer-songwriter Lourdes Leon got right on time for the Grammy Awards red carpet, looking ravishing as ever in her ruby red ponte jersey crystal-embellished gown with crystal pyramid cups from Area’s fall 2022 collection. She paired it with Loree Rodkin jewels, dark ruby lips and matching Gianvito Rossi heels to finish off her look.
Anitta
The Brazilian singer Anitta channelled drama and finesse as she opted for a cascading vintage Versace strapless gown from the 2003 couture collection — a masterwork of laser-cut leather and lace outfitted with a sweeping ruffled train. She donned the ‘Look 4’ out of six ultra-special pieces created by Versace to demonstrate the unparalleled skills, workmanship, innovation and originality of their atelier. From the incredible finishes and meticulous hand embroidery, every aspect was a declaration by Versace. Anitta accentuated her look with Tiffany & Co. jewels — including a mesmerizing 12-carat kunzite pendant, a diamond tennis bracelet and multiple sparkling rings.
