Festival review: Rock For People 2016

The three-day long Rock for People festival started on 3rd July and it took place in Hradec Kralove, Czech Republic and CelebMix was there!

Artists like Massive Attack, Our Last Night, The Offspring, The 1975 and Bullet For My Valentine showed up, so everyone was super excited. You can see the complete line-up here.

There were four main stages in total: Rock for People Stage, Staropramen Stage, Sapito Stage and Hard Rock Café Stage. There were also a few small stages which held about 50 people and that was where the local musicians played.

You could hear quite a big variety of genres at the festival, for example, trip hop, dance music, pop and even rap. As it is typical for festivals, not everyone came there for the music. There was a huge number of stands with drinks and refreshments, as well as a merch stand. Also, some of the artists even had signings and the luckiest people could win meet and greets.

Nero, Skillet and Royal Republic were the main acts on Sunday and we have to say, they were truly amazing!

Monday was a day full of huge names! The Offspring, Bullet For My Valentine and Five Finger Death Punch took over the main stage. X Ambassadors and The Quemists played on the Staropramen stage. We dare to say that Monday was actually the busiest day of the entire festival!

Some people might think that everyone would be completely exhausted by the last day of the festival. However, the whole crowd were buzzing for their favourite artists! The program on the Rock for People Stage began at 17:00 when the American post-hardcore band Our Last Night dominated the stage. After them, the band Anti-Flag, also from the US, took over the stage.

The third band to slay the main stage were The 1975! They opened with their single Love Me and finished with one of their older songs called Sex, as is common during their shows now. Even though their set only lasted 50 minutes, the hype was phenomenal.

Massive Attack were the last to perform on the Rock for People Stage this year and we must say, it was incredible!

Although the line-up for next year isn’t announced yet, we’re sure to show up again! Even if there weren’t any bands that we listen to, we would go, because the festival atmosphere is truly incredible. So if you live somewhere around the Czech Republic, we would totally recommend going.
