London-based girl group FLO flex their impressive R&B / pop credentials this week, with the release of their highly-anticipated debut album ‘Access All Areas’.
The 16-track collection serves as something of a manifesto for the trio (made up of Jorja Douglas, Stella Quaresma, and Renée Downer), highlighting their “no-holds-barred approach to music and life” as they delve deep into themes of love, sensuality, sisterhood and navigating life/industry as three young Black women.
Commenting on the record, the ladies say via a press release: “We cannot wait for our fans to finally be able to hear it. We’ve poured our hearts into this album and are immensely proud of the quality, sound, lyricism and storytelling we’ve created. We’re so grateful to all of the collaborators on the album and know the heights it’s going to take us to! We hope everyone loves it as much as we do!”
To celebrate the release of the album, FLO also drop the official music video for ‘In My Bag’ featuring American rapper GloRilla.
Directed by Troy Roscoe (Stormzy, New Hope Club, KSI) and choreographed by Sean Bankhead, the cinematic clip follows the four girls as they conduct a heist with a twist.
Speaking about ‘In My Bag’ and working with GloRilla, FLO said: “This track is such a special song to us as we’re speaking life and greatness into us! It’s a manifestation… singing it live for our fans has been incredible because everyone in the room feels empowered and seen! We’ve been in our bag… and now everyone is too!
“GLO is such a deserving, incredibly talented and sweet artist who we really admire. When she said she’d love to do a verse on ‘In My Bag’ we were so happy because we knew she would kill it! We’ve loved working with her and are looking forward to everyone watching the video we shot together in Atlanta.”
