Gal Musette is a curiously clandestine singer-songwriter who spins intricate baroque-pop spiderwebs around the complex emotions within her. Her newly released album Pendulum is a profile on opposition. Reflective like a fun house mirror, Musette explores how her polarizing sensations surface. Swinging between highs of confidence and lows of oblivion, Musette navigates the rollercoaster of her own reality on Pendulum.
The album is a mesmerizing sonic daydream full of lush atmospherics, magnetic undercurrents of percussion, and haunting synths that swim beneath the surface. Featuring her anthemic, coming-of-age track “Moment”, Musette expresses compassion for her past and fearlessly emerges into the present. Her single “Je Vois Le Ciel” will transfix you with a vocal sung entirely in french. On her electrically vibrant voyage “Plateau”, Musette sings, “Can’t tell through a screen what does exist.” Pendulum opens a portal to the unanswered questions of everyday life with fantasy-filled sonics beneath a lyrical serenade.
Gal Musette toured as an opener for The Magnetic Fields when she was only a teenager. Since then, she has collaborated on a duet with the one and only Rufus Wainwright featured on her debut album Backwards Lullaby. Pendulum is her long-awaited new release.
