ZAYN is set to release his first book on Tuesday, November 1st. In an exclusive sneak peek, the singer has released a snippet of the chapter titled “Fandom” on the online forum Wattpad.
Wattpad is normally used as a platform for fans to released fanfiction about their favourite television and movie characters or idols. This makes it the perfect medium for ZAYN to release his official book on.
In the excerpt, the former One Direction singer writes about how fans of the band would write stories about him and his fellow bandmates. “I’m not gonna lie, it’s pretty unnerving reading things about yourself as a character from someone else’s imagination,” ZAYN writes, “but it’s cool to see that so many fans engaged with the band on their own terms like that.”
ZAYN also discussed fanart and how grateful he is that his fans spend their time on interpreting his music. He says, “it’s really humbling.”
