Good Charlotte have announced plans to reissue ‘Greetings From California’, the 2014 album originally released under the Madden Brothers moniker. The expanded edition will arrive on 6 November via MDDN/Atlantic, featuring three reimagined versions of fan favourites from the original record.
Among the bonus tracks is ‘U R’, a new collaboration with eight-time Grammy-winning reggae artist Ziggy Marley, available to stream now. The release marks the first time the brothers have worked with Marley, while revisiting an album that has developed a devoted following since being taken offline in 2015.
“More than 12 years ago we made this album as The Madden Brothers,” Joel and Benji Madden said in a statement. “Soon after releasing it we felt like we wanted to take it back, and keep it just for us. All these years later, we realized, this could have been a GC record all along, so we’ve put some time and love into repackaging this to re-release it, and it’s really meaningful to get to share it again.”

Originally released in 2014, ‘Greetings From California’ saw the brothers explore a sound beyond their pop-punk roots. The album’s first half leaned into bright pop-rock, produced alongside longtime collaborator Eric Valentine, while the second drew on the classic pop sounds of the Seventies, with Joe Chiccarelli behind the boards.
A limited-edition two-LP vinyl release featuring the three bonus tracks and new cover art will also be available at participating independent record stores on Record Store Day Black Friday, 27 November.
The reissue arrives as Good Charlotte continue the next chapter of their career following the release of ‘Motel Du Cap’ last year, their first new album in seven years.
Lead single ‘Rejects’ peaked at No. 7 on the Top 10 Alt Radio Singles Chart, marking the band’s highest-charting entry to date. The album also earned praise from critics, with Rolling Stone commending its “unrelenting energy” and Grammy.com hailing it as “a celebration of their organic beginnings and the dreams they’ve achieved.”
Good Charlotte will hit the road for their Motel Du Cap EU/UK Tour this November, with longtime friends Yellowcard joining as special guests. The tour kicks off in Stockholm on 8 November, visiting cities across Europe and the UK before wrapping up in Manchester on 30 November. The band will also play London’s O2 Arena on 19 November, with Los Angeles-based Grave Secrets opening on all dates.
