Grey’s Anatomy tells the story of Meredith Grey and a group doctors as they face many challenging medical cases, at Seattle Grace Hospital, all while dealing with their own drama, hidden secrets, and heartbreaking tragedies. Season 1 of the show first aired in 2005 and the first episode of season 13 just aired on September 22nd of this year (2016).

1. Ellen Pompeo (Meredith Grey)
Ellen Pompeo is still acting on Grey’s Anatomy to this day! She continues to do an amazing job as the lead role of the show all while pursuing other acting opportunities in music videos, television shows, and movies.
2. Justin Chambers (Alex Karev)
In addition to Ellen Pompeo, Justin Chambers is still acting on Grey’s Anatomy. His career first started out in modeling, but now he has branched out and pursued roles in many different television shows and movies. Not only is his career still very successful, but he has shown the world that aging is impossible.
3. Chandra Wilson (Miranda Bailey)
Chandra is still acting on Grey’s Anatomy in addition to pursuing other acting roles on Broadway and on many popular prime-time television shows. She also continues to direct many of the Grey’s episodes as she has done in the past.
4. James Pickens Jr. (Richard Webber)
James is still acting and doing a phenomenal job at being Richard Webber on Grey’s Anatomy. Thank goodness he has stayed on the show, as if Richard ever left, we might as well have a heart-attack.
5. Patrick Dempsey (Derek Shepherd)
“McDreamy” has really done it all. From race car driving to sweeping the nation off its feet in Grey’s Anatomy, Patrick has had major success. After leaving the show in the 12th season, he is still acting and even has a new movie coming out entitled, Bridget Jones’s Baby.
6. Sara Ramirez (Callie Torres)
Sara Ramirez just left the Grey’s cast in the 12th season, but she has not stopped acting and singing since. She is currently the voice for the children’s show, Sofia The First, and she has also released her own solo music.
7. Sandra Oh (Cristina Yang)
Sandra Oh was a part of the Grey’s Anatomy cast until season 10 (2014), but she has continued her acting career in the web series, Shitty Boyfriends, and in the movie, Catfight.
8. Kevin McKidd (Owen Hunt)
Kevin McKidd is still on the show, to this day, as the ever-so-loved, Owen Hunt. In addition to being a “trauma surgeon”, Kevin’s most recent project was a role in the television series, Star Wars Rebels.
9. Jessica Capshaw (Arizona Robbins)
Jessica Capshaw is still being her bubbly, fun, child-loving self, on Grey’s since she first started acting on the show in 2009. She also pursued other acting jobs back in 2010 and 2014.
10. Jesse Williams (Jackson Avery)
Since Jesse Williams began acting on the show, he has been a fan favorite. I guess that’s why he is still on the show today! In addition to Grey’s Anatomy, Jesse has acted in many popular films such as The Sisterhood Of The Traveling Pants 2 and The Cabin In The Woods and in the popular TV show Greek.
11. Sarah Drew (April Kepner)
As she continues to play April Kepner on Grey’s Anatomy, Sarah Drew has guest starred on many TV shows such as Glee, Law & Oder, Supernatural, and Castle. From starting in the Broadway world, she has had such a blossoming and amazing career.
12. Eric Dane (Mark Sloan)
After ending his Grey’s career in 2012, Eric Dane has moved onto bigger things such as starring in the movie Burlesque and even currently filming a movie entitled, The Blue Mauritius.
13. Katherine Heigl (Izzie Stevens)
Even though she was only on the show from 2005-2012, Katherine Heigl played such a memorable character. Today, she is most known for starring in the movies 27 Dresses and New Year’s Eve. She is currently filming movies called, Unforgettable and Logan Lucky.
14. Chyler Leigh (Lexie Grey)
After starring in on the show from season 4 to season 8, Chyler has gotten multiple television roles including roles on the shows Taxi Brooklyn and Supergirl.
15. T.R. Knight (George O’Malley)
After Grey’s, T.R. chose to go back to his Broadway career in 2010 and continue on acting in many different film and television roles. He is currently working on multiple projects such as the movie, Hello Again, and the television show, The Catch.
