Ellen Pompeo is ringing in the new year as a new mother.
The Grey’s star and husband, music producer Chris Ivery have welcomed baby boy Eli Christopher Ivery into the world.
On Thursday, the 47-year-old shared a cuddly photo of Ivery and their newborn on her Instagram account where the father-son duo are all smiles. She captioned the photo, “Chris Ivery just fell a notch. I’ve got a new guy.”
The couple are also the parents of two daughters, Stella Luna, 7 and Sienna May, 2.
Pompeo’s surprise pregnancy comes as no shock to the public eye as her and Ivery like to keep their personal lives relatively private. In 2014, the actress did not announce Sienna’s arrival until two months after she was born.
“Everyone’s doing great,” a family representative confirmed.
“Being a mother is the most fun job I’ve ever had,” Pompeo told PEOPLE Magazine back in 2010 after giving birth to her first child.
