Did you watch the Grammy’s last night? If so, then chances are that you witnessed Gwen Stefani making history with the first ever live music video on television!
The singer, who recently announced her first solo album in ten years, premiered the first live music video for her new single ‘Make Me Like You’ during a Grammy’s commercial for Target. Gwen went all out to impress in the four-minute video, with numerous costume changes, sets, dance routines and even a roller skating segment!
Gwen also paid tribute to her boyfriend Blake Shelton, naming the bar that featured in one scene ‘Blake’s’. He is rumoured to be the inspiration behind the song. The singer also pokes fun at the media over their coverage of her personal life in recent months, by holding a fake magazine bearing the headline “Gwen Pregnant With Alien Baby!”
Whilst Gwen pulled off the whole video like a pro, during a roller skating sequence, her body double falls over and pulls a dancer down with her. Although, according to Time, a Target rep revealed in an email that the tumble was actually planned.
‘Make Me Like You’ trails Gwen Stefani’s third solo album, This Is What the Truth Feels Like, which is due for release on March 18.
