Get ready Harry Potter fans! The Boy Who Lived has returned!
J.K. Rowling has announced that there will be a Harry Potter play opening up at London’s West End next summer.
The British novelist took to Twitter to share the exciting news to her fans, stating, “I’m very excited to confirm today that a new play called Harry Potter and the Cursed Child will be opening in London next year.”
Rowling also wanted to let Potter fans know that the play will reveal an “untold part of Harry’s story.”
Casting is yet to be determined and producers of the play, Sonia Friedman and Colin Callender are said to be searching for individuals to play the lead roles.
Rowling also responded to fans whom asked why she did not write the play as a novel at first.
“To answer one inevitable (and reasonable!) question – why isn’t #CursedChild a new novel? – I am confident that when audiences see the play they will agree that it was only proper medium for the story,” she tweeted.
Tickets for Harry Potter and The Cursed Child will go on sale this autumn!
