In honour of Harry Styles’ 22nd birthday tomorrow, two fans have created a charity drive for Believe in Magic.
As many One Direction fans know, Believe in Magic is a charity organization that is very close to the boys’ hearts. Harry Styles is an ambassador for the charity and has worked with them since the beginning. Believe in Magic was Founded in 2011 by 16-year-old Meg Bhari, who after being seriously ill and having 23 operations, decided to bring Magic to other very poorly Children across the UK. Today, the charity is run by Meg and her mother Jean.
Believe in Magic is a charity that spreads magic to the lives of seriously and terminally ill children across the United Kingdom. They spread magic through once-in-a-lifetime experiences, magical parties, and celebrity visits and gifts for children in hospitals and hospices. They will do anything they can to put a smile on the children’s faces. They bring magic and hope to the lives of many incredibly brave and truly inspirational children, giving them the fun, happiness and wonderful experiences that they deserve.
The charity drive for Harry’s birthday was created by Hannah Starkey and Rebecca Evans. Their goal is to reach £1,000, which will all be donated to Believe in Magic. We have talked to them about the charity drive and what inspired them to create it.
Q: What inspired you to create the charity drive?
Hannah: I have been a supporter of the charity for around four years now and seeing what they can bring to seriously ill children is magical. Anything I can do to help Believe in Magic do what they do best is my pleasure.
Rebecca: I wanted to do something to support Meg and Jean who run the charity. As they are two of the most amazing people I know.
Q: Do you have any personal relations to Believe in Magic?
Hannah: Meg and Jean who run the charity are two of the most inspiring people I know! They always put others first and are so passionate in what they do! Having had cancer myself as a young child, I know how much of a positive impact what they do has on many children’s lives.
Rebecca: I’ve supported them for a few years now and I have wanted to help them as I think the charity is amazing.
Q: What made you do it in honour of Harry Styles’ birthday?
Hannah: Harry has been a huge supporter of the charity since the very start and is also now an ambassador of the charity, along with the other members of One Direction. I think it would be an amazing gift to him to donate to a charity that means such a lot to him.
Rebecca: Harry has been a supporter of Believe in Magic for years as well and I thought that this would be a good thing to be helping Jean and Meg with.
