Heartstopper fans can barely contain their excitement as Netflix confirm major Season 2 news is coming this week.
It’s been exactly a year since the coming-of-age high school drama hit the streaming platform and, therefore, also 365 days since the internet lost its mind.
Within days of release, the televised version of Alice Oseman’s hit comic had found a huge fan base who fell head over heels for Charlie Spring, Nick Nelson and the rest of Truham Grammar High School.
It catapulted actors Joe Locke, Kit Connor, Yasmin Finney, Will Gao, Tobie Donovan, Kizzy Edgell, Corinna Brown, Sebastian Croft and more into the limelight.
Now Netflix has confirmed news about the next season will be unveiled to fans this week with a short clip of the cast telling followers to be prepared.

1) Isaac’s growth and asexuality representation
Isaac became somewhat of a cult favourite last season with Tobie Donovan excelling as the bashful bookworm.
The upcoming season will see Isaac step into the limelight more with an important storyline that is sure to win Heartstopper more plaudits.
Oseman told fans that they would “learn something new about” Isaac and that “asexuality will be discussed on TV in a big way”.
So proud to be telling this story, can’t wait for you all to see ? https://t.co/3rpImRBWfi

Donovan said: “So proud to be telling this story, can’t wait for you all to see.”
2) Paris
Truham Grammar School was the perfect backdrop for Season 1, filmed in Buckinghamshire when coming out of the pandemic.
Part of the upcoming season has been shot in Paris and, as much as we loved Truham, we can’t wait to see the characters out and about.
A few sneaky pics from filming circulated online last year and it looks like fans will be able to live out young love in Paris vicariously through the show.
3) Nick’s relationship with Olivia Coleman, or rather, his mum
One of the most moving moments in the first series of Heartstopper came when Nick Nelson comes out to his mother Sarah as bisexual.
Sarah Nelson is, of course, played by the iconic Olivia Coleman who opened up about just how moving that scene was to film.
We’re almost certain that relationship will be key to Nick’s development as a character and here’s hoping it makes for some super wholesome viewing.
4) Tao & Elle
Come on Tao & Elle, we all know there’s something there.
Talk about a slow burner, even if viewers saw the chemistry between the two characters from early doors the two chums are taking their time opening up to one another.
If the city of love doesn’t ignite the match, then what will?
5) New cast members
There will be fresh faces in Heartstopper Season 2 with Bel Priestly, Ash Self and Thibault De Montalembert all joining the team.
Bel will play Naomi and Ash will play Felix, who are new friends of Yasmin Finney’s character Elle.
It’s also hugely exciting to see Thibault in the cast, who is a French acting titan thanks to his roles which include Mathias Barneville in Call My Agent. He’ll play the father of Nick Nelson in Heartstopper.
