British singer-songwriter Sam Smith has joined forces with pioneering J-pop artist Hikaru Utada for a stunning new rendition of Smith’s iconic hit, ‘Stay With Me.’

This collaboration marks the 10th anniversary of Sam Smith’s GRAMMY®-winning debut album, In The Lonely Hour, and features on its special 10th Anniversary Edition.

This beautiful reimagining of ‘Stay With Me’ blends Utada’s emotive vocals with Smith’s original, creating a powerful and touching duet that celebrates a decade of one of the most beloved songs in recent history.

Utada shared their excitement about the collaboration, saying, “It’s such an honor to be part of this rendition and celebration of ‘Stay With Me’—a song that has touched so many with its vulnerability and yearning.”

Sam Smith also expressed their joy, noting the deep connection they share with the song and their admiration for Utada, who has been a trailblazer in their own right. “Collaborating with Hikaru, an artist whose legacy in Japan is monumental, has been a privilege. This new version of ‘Stay With Me’ is a testament to the journey we’ve both undergone, especially as we’ve embraced our true selves over the years.”

Hikaru Utada, who first burst onto the global scene as a teenager, continues to break boundaries with their music, and this latest collaboration with Sam Smith is no exception. As both artists continue to influence and inspire across genres and cultures, their version of ‘Stay With Me’ is sure to resonate deeply with fans worldwide.
