Holly Tandy and Rai-Elle Williams – two of the youngest solo contestants on this year’s series of ‘The X Factor’ – have been eliminated from the show during Sunday night’s quarter final double elimination, narrowly missing out on a place in the Semi-Finals.
On Sunday’s Live Show, Holly Tandy performed a version of the popular track ‘Love Me Harder’ by Ariana Grande and The Weeknd. Following her performance, Judge Louis Walsh said he felt that Holly wasn’t safe in the competition. However, she was commended by Simon Cowell for taking the Judges’ comments on board. During her time on the show, Holly has repeatedly impressed with her performances, drawing inspiration from her Grandad.
Rai-Elle Williams performed the classic Jean Knight hit ‘Mr Big Stuff.’ Even from her first audition, Rai Elle’s uniqueness shined through in her sassiness and confident attitude, being reflected in this performance also. Her vocal and rapping skills impressed the Judges week after week, performing a mixture of ballads and uptempo tracks.
On this year’s series, the public are in sole control of the contestants who remain in the competition, along with who is eliminated.
In a new twist also introduced this year, the public pick a winner from each Live Show night. Each respective winner from the Live Show goes up against one another on Sunday’s Live Show, and the Prize Fight Winner wins a prize linked to the competition, ranging from spending time with reputable song-writers to opening up for Little Mix!
Rak-Su and Grace Davies were up against each other this week. Talented four-piece Rak-Su won the Prize Fight, with their original track ‘Mona Lisa.’
