    Home Improvement: Where Are They Now

    Home Improvement first premiered way back in 1991 on the American TV channel ABC and quickly became a huge global hit. It was one of the most watched sitcoms on US television and helped launch the acting career of Tim Allen, and was also the show that started the TV career of Pamela Anderson.

    It has been 18-years since the very last episode aired but the Taylor family are still thought of fondly amongst sitcom fans, and are one of the most famous families ever created on TV. But what are they all doing now?  Check out the list of your favourite characters as we give you glimpse into their present lives.

    Tim Allen aka Tim “The Tool-man” Taylor

    The voice of Buzz Lightyear in the Disney Pixar franchise Toy Story, Tim Allen is also an accomplished stand-up comedian and sitcom actor. Apart from his role in Home Improvement Tim Allen is probably most famous for his role in The Santa Claus trilogy where he plays the reluctant Santa, Scott Calvin. Since 2011 he he has starred in the US family sitcom Last Man Standing.

    Patricia Richardson aka Jill Taylor

    After launching her TV acting career as Jill in the hit sitcom Home Improvement, Patrica Richardson has starred in numerous American TV shows including Strong Medicine, and The West Wing. Law and Order. She also guest starred in two episodes of Last Man Standing. In 2015 Patricia ran for the position of national president of the SAG-AFTRA after having served on the board for just one term. She lost the election narrowly to longtime President Ken Howard . And she was reelected to the National and Local Los Angeles Boards of SAG-AFTRA .

    Zachery Ty Bryan aka Brad Taylor

    After Home Improvement ended Zachery went on to get roles in hit US programmes such as Buffy The Vampire Slayer, Veronica Mars and Touched By An Angel. In 2006 he also starred as Clay in The Fast and Furious: Tokyo Drift. Along with being an award winning actor Zachery is also a successful producer. He has produced

    Jonathon Taylor Thomas aka Randy Taylor

    From 2002-2004 Jonathon starred in Smallville and in 2008 Jonathon had a guest role on the hit US sitcom 8 Simple Rules For Dating My Teenage Daughter. He has also had guest roles on Last Man Standing. Now, Jonathon rarely acts.

    Taran Noah Smith aka Mark Taylor

    In 1999 aged just 16 Taran retired from acting admitting that it was not what he wanted to do with his life. He has not had a starring role since then. Aged 17 he married Heidi van Pelt but the couple divorced in 2007 and in the year 2005, Smith and his then-wife formed a California-based non-dairy cheese manufacturer and restaurant, Playfood, which specialises in vegan and organic foods.

    Richard Karn aka Al Borland

     

    In 2002, Richard Karn replaced Louie Anderson as the fourth presented of the US game show Family Feud. Karn left the programme in 2006 and was replaced by John O’Hurley. Back in 2015, Karn hosted an informational do-it-yourself TV show titled “You Karn Fix It Yourself”. The programme focused primarily on simple household tasks and home-improvement projects. The show ran for 6 episodes on truTV during the fall season. He also had various acting roles in TV and film.

    Earl Hindan aka Wilson

    Earl Hindman sadly passed away in 2003 aged 61.

    Together the actors created a wonderful sitcom that is enjoyable and relatable in any decade. They entertained families all over the world in the 90s and the show continues to gain a fanbase everyday.
