There’s a frenzy surrounding 19-year-old popstar, HRVY, and it’s spreading all across the globe.
The Personal-singer played his debut Paris show to a sold-out Les Etoiles crowd and it’s evident just why fans across the world are so excited. This is a venue that has played host to the high pop calibre acts such as Charli XCX and Joe Jonas’ DNCE in recent years, and it might well be time to put HRVY’s name up there too. The popstar’s track ‘Personal’ has racked up over 150 million views on YouTube, he has supported the likes of Little Mix and The Vamps, and has also been named in The Courier’s Sounds of 2018.
Fans had queued for hours on the street of the northern Paris venue, a testament to one of the most ferociously loyal fandoms out there today. It’s a family affair too, younger brothers, mums and dads, gig-goers in their early 20s – HRVY puts on a show for everyone.
Opening with ‘Talk To Ya’, one of the youngster’s most popular original tracks, 45-minutes of non-stop flair followed from the up-and-coming pop starlet. Covers including Ed Sheeran’s ‘Perfect’, an artist who he revealed as his dream collab when chatting with Celeb Mix earlier this year, Jonas Blue’s ‘Hey Mama’ and Shawn Mendes’ ‘In My Blood’ go down a treat – this teenager knows exactly what works for him. Sure, he’s the perfect pin-up boy for many teenage fans, but there’s no denying that HRVY can sing too. There are no backing vocalists, backing dancers only appear for a handful of tracks and two acoustic songs showcase his vocals, he’s the full package.

The success of HRVY’s own material over the past 12 months is really quite astounding. ‘Personal’ is the kind of track you hear once and never forget, whilst latest release ‘Hasta Luego’ is a superbly-clever pop ditty. It’s those two tracks that close the evening and leave the sold-out crowd, who will all gather outside the venue for an hour and a half afterwards, with the taste for more.
Luckily, at only 19, there is so much more to come from HRVY. Paris may have had a short and sweet set, but it’s flawless. HRVY is pressing all the right buttons and the future is very, very exciting.
