High School Musical is celebrating it’s 10th anniversary!! Feel old yet? The film is beloved by a generation (and a CelebMix team ultimate favorite), as is the HSM cast a decade later.
Here is what your favorite Wildcats are up to:
1. Zac Efron
Then:
Now:
Age: 28
Zac Efron is still melting hearts worldwide…even though in an interview he could not recognize “Breaking Free”. (WHAT HAPPENED TO “ONCE A WILDCAT, ALWAYS A WILDCAT?!”) Following HSM, Zac appeared in the movie musical Hairspray, comedy hit Neighbors, and a bunch of other movies where his character description basically was “ridiculously attractive guy who should take his shirt off at some point in the film”. You can catch Zac in the upcoming film Dirty Grandpa which is sure to be hysterical.
2.Vanessa Hudgens
Then:
Now:
Age: 27
BABY V! Vanessa had two albums with Hollywood Records including the now iconic singles “Come Back To Me” and “Say Ok” which starred real life boyfriend Efron in the music video (R.I.P ZANESSA). Vanessa has most recently appeared on Broadway and this month will appear as Rizzo in “Grease Live” on a television near you. (Set your DVR: January 31 on FOX)
3. Ashley Tisdale
Then:
Now:
Age: 30
Ashley continued to reprise her role of Maddie Fitzpatrick in Disney Channel’s “The Suite Life of Zack and Cody” following HSM. She also had two albums with Warner Bros. spawning the jam “He Said, She Said”. Up until last year, she was the voice of Candace on “Phineas and Ferb”. We’re just gonna forget about Sharpay’s Fabulous Adventure…but yea she was in that too. She recently got married and will appear in an animated musical film Charming this year along side Demi Lovato and Avril Lavigne.
4. Corbin Bleu
Then:
Now:
Age: 26
Corbin got engaged to his girlfriend in Disney World claiming Disney holds a very special place in his heart (cue the tears). He made two albums with Hollywood Records…do we even need to mention the pure perfection of “Push It To The Limit”. Corbin had a run on Broadway in the musical In The Heights earning him rave reviews. You can see him in the recently released film To Write Love On Her Arms (which actually was shot in 2011).
5. Lucas Grabeel
Then:
Now:
Age: 31
After HSM, Grabeel teamed up with Drew Seely (aka the guy who sang in Zac’s place for the first film and did the HSM tour) to created a web series “I Kissed a Vampire”, a rock musical about (you guessed it) vampires. Since 2011 Lucas has been in the acclaimed ABC Family (owned by Disney) series “Switched at Birth” where he plays Toby. He provides his voice to the Disney Junior show “Sheriff Callie’s Wild West” as Deputy Peck, too. This coming year he will be part of a new show for Disney’s rival network Nickelodeon, “Pinky Malinky”. Although none of these roles are as fab as Ryan Evans, he still kills it each time.
6. Monique Coleman
Then:
Now:
Age: 35
Monique is a married lady! She wed Walter Jordan on Valentine’s Day 2012. Before that and post HSM, Monique was a contestant on ABC’s “Dancing with the Stars” finishing in third place. She had a talk show titled “Gimme Mo” for a short bit. Last year she appeared in the film Naomi and Ely’s No Kiss List and has a movie currently in the works titled Crush. Yo go, Mo!
