The producers of Moulin Rouge! The Musical and RCA Records have released the highly-anticipated Original Broadway Cast Recording of Moulin Rouge! The Musical and we adore it!
As in Baz Luhrmann’s film, Moulin Rouge! The Musical celebrates some of the greatest popular music of the last 50 years. The stage musical features many of the iconic songs from the movie and also includes recent hits released since the movie premiered 19 years ago.
The cast of Moulin Rouge! The Musical is led by Karen Olivo as Satine, Aaron Tveit as Christian, Danny Burstein as Harold Zidler, Sahr Ngaujah as Toulouse-Lautrec, Tam Mutu as The Duke of Monroth, Ricky Rojas as Santiago and Robyn Hurder as Nini.
Directed by Alex Timbers choreography by Sonya Taye and music supervision, orchestrations and arrangements by Justin Levine. The Moulin Rouge! The Musical Original Broadway Cast Recording is produced by Grammy-nominated Baz Luhrmann, Justin Levine, Matt Stine and Alex Timbers.
The soundtrack has 19 tracks, it’s a real feel-good soundtrack featuring covers of Rihanna’s Only Girl in the World, Gaga’s Bad Romance, Sia’s Chandelier and Elton John’s Our Song plus many more of some of the biggest chart hits, its truly well worth a listen if you are a music lover. We defy you not to listen to it and sing along. Our favourite track is Backstage Romance.
Moulin Rouge! The Musical is now playing at Broadway’s Al Hirschfeld Theatre where it opened to rave reviews on July 25, 2019 (previews began June 28)
