Written by Ilona, whilst it was produced by Moritz Braun, “Talk To My Body” is a sensually dark pop song full of sexually enticing vibes from the irresistible backing track to the intoxicating lyrics to Ilona’s mesmerising vocals, the entire track comes together brilliantly. With a similar air to Inna’s “Say It With Your Body”, Ilona doesn’t shy away from expressing the sexual tension she has with her partner, with the intention of rekindling that fiery intimacy that will surely whisk them away to the bedroom. Vocally powerful, Ilona makes the statement that women have sexual needs and wants too, allowing her listeners to understand the importance of self-empowerment especially for women as well as a subtle hint about consent too. “Talk To My Body” is that sexually charged pop track that we can’t get enough of.
Talking about this track, Ilona said: “I kept playing this chord progression on my keyboard, and it was so intense, I remembered thinking, ‘Oh, this is going to be dramatic and hypnotic.’ I also wanted to depict the feeling of a vacuum and the desire to fill that void with intimacy.”
She continues by saying: “It’s a dilemma for women. We are constantly taught that our bodies are not our own. This song shows a woman in power coming from a place of equity and equality. I am finally able to express myself sensually from a place of strength.”
