Due to Adam Lambert’s birthday recently passing on January 29th, Touch of Sparkle donated another 50 care packs to cancer patients this past week, bringing the total number of donated care packs to 850!
According to the founder of Touch of Sparkle, Melanie Hersey, “the idea is to spread a little care and humanity and try to lighten the load for patients undergoing chemotherapy, radiotherapy or surgery for cancer.”
In addition to the usual care packs donated last year, Touch of Sparkle donated over 1000 toys to the childrens’ ward as well as some overnight packs for parents accompanying a child in the hospital. Touch of Sparkle’s goal is to donate at least 1000 care packs for this year, and you can help! To reach the goal, they only need at least 150 more care packs.
The packages include some of the examples below:
- Practical items (bed socks, tissues, restaurant voucher, sweets, herbal tea for anti-sickness)
- Distractions (puzzle book, notebook, pen, earphones, playing cards)
- Pamper items (nail varnish, moisturizer, lip balm)
Touch of Sparkle is a project run by Adam Lambert fans (on an unofficial basis) to provide ‘care packs’ to cancer patients. The project is run in aid of the Addenbrooke’s Charitable Trust (reg. charity no.1048868).

The items are purchased using the donations from Touch of Sparkle’s gofundmepage and their Amazon wishlist, along with donations from national, local and online businesses. They are then packaged and delivered to cancer patients at Addenbrooke’s Hospital, Cambridge, UK.
