OddChild Label’s producer, Moon Willis, has dropped a track with singer-songwriter, Etta Bond, entitled, I Like the Way.
We hear the north London-based producer partner up with fellow OddChild stablemate, Etta Bond, for the hot summer track – which combines an upbeat rhythm and feel-good tempo, meshing perfectly with Etta’s captivating vocals.
Moon Willis – who is still early on in his musical career – has deservedly racked up over 15 million streams, garnered support from 1Xtra, Kiss FM, Kiss Fresh, and even Mistajam from Radio 1 is a huge fan.
On top of creating the official remixes for the likes of Duke Dumont and Disciples, he has collected over 10 million Spotify streams with massive hit, Never Letting Go, featuring Zac Samuel and Tayá, and on top of that…
2019 is set to be the producer’s best year with even more refreshing collaborations on the way with the likes of Bree Runway and Belgian DJ, The Magician.
We got the chance to chat to Moon Willis about his new track with Etta Bond, who he would love to team up with on future tracks, and what it’s like to collaborate with musical legends!
Hey Moon Willis. Tell us all about your new single, I Like the Way.
Hey! It’s actually one I first made a couple of years ago – when I first started making house music. I’ve worked on loads of tunes since but I always end up coming back to it. So happy it’s finally out.
What was it like working with Etta Bond on the track?
Etta’s always a laugh in the studio – and it’s wicked to have her on this track. She hasn’t really done any dance tunes before.
What’s it like garnering support from the likes of the BBC and Kiss so early in your music career?
I love the support! There’s been a couple of times where I’ve just had the radio on and had one of my tracks appear. A very strange feeling!
What was it like arranging the official remixes for Duke Dumont and Disciples?
It was great! I always pick my remixes on the strength of the vocal and both of those were super inspiring to work with.
Tell us about who you’ve recently been working with.
I’ve been doing a load of writing with an amazing singer called Bree Runway – did a few tracks for her upcoming EP and we’re already on the second one. House-wise I’ve been doing a bunch of stuff with The Magician – expect to a hear a few tracks soon!
Who do you dream of working with, in the future?
It’s the girls who are making the best stuff right now. I’d love to work with Rosalia, Tierra Whack or Niniola. They’re my faves this year!
Can we expect any more collaborations this year?
Definitely!
Skip 5 years, where do you see yourself?
I think I’ve really hit a stride with my production lately – so I’m trying not to think too much and see where it takes me!
