The nominations for the Ivor Novello Awards 2017 have been announced. The awards celebrate the very best in songwriting and composing, highlighting works which were released in the UK in 2016.
Michael Kiwanuka and Laura Mvula have both received two nominations, for Best Song Musically and Lyrically, and Best Album. Coldplay also have two nominations, both in the PRS for Music Most Performed Work category. Their songs ‘Adventure of a Lifetime’ and ‘Hymn For The Weekend’ will battle against Adele’s ‘When We Were Young’.

The 62nd Ivor Novello Awards will take place on May 18 at the Grosvenor House, Park Lane, London.
