Yesterday was Little Mix’s Jade Thirlwall’s 23rd birthday! The 23 year old singer spent her birthday raising money for Cancer Connections at their Boxing Day Dip. According to their website, ”Cancer Connections is located in South Tyneside in the North East of England. It is a charity that is dedicated to serving individuals and families suffering from cancer and its after-effects. It was founded by a group of friends in 2006 and has grown as a charity beyond expectations.”
”The first dip set off was for Alex’s Angels at Sand Haven beach. More than 100 people joined South Shields girl Alex Turner in her mission to raise cash for the Teenage Cancer Trust. The 16-year-old was diagnosed with a rare form of throat cancer last year and has since raised more than £50,000 for the charity. Last year, she organised a dip but couldn’t take part due to ill health”, according to The Shields Gazette.
Over at Little Haven beach, Jade was dressed as a Christmas cracker. She said: ”I’m really cold but it’s worth it. This is a really fun way to raise some money for Cancer Connections and a really great way to start my birthday. It’s lovely to see so many people coming down to take part to support this brilliant charity.”
After the event was over, Jade made a post on Instagram that said: ‘Thank you to everyone who came to the Boxing Day Dip today to help raise money for Cancer Connections love from the ”Cancer Connections Boxing Day Dip Cracker.”In another post, she said: ”Deborah, Reg, myself and Josef. Amazing turn out for the Cancer Connections Boxing Day Dip today at the little haven beach. Best way to start my birthday! It was bloody freezing and pouring with rain but so many people ran in the North Sea and came to raise money/remember their loved ones/support their family and friends. Cancer Connections is an incredible charity that supports anyone affected by cancer. They have no government funding and rely on donations. So proud to be a part of it and be surrounded by such incredible people.”The girls of Little Mix are involved with a lot of different charities. They love giving back as much as they love trying to help as many people as they can. Just last week, Perrie Edwards, Jade Thirlwall, Leigh-Ann Pinnock, and Jesy Nelson all visited the Alder Hey Children’s hospital to participate in a meet and greet and to perform for the sick children. They also participated in the Beanie Vs Bobble Christmas campaign to help raise money for Alder Hey Children’s hospital. What an amazing way for Jade to spend her 23rd birthday!
