Jake Quickenden has premiered the official video for his new single ‘Blindfold’ and it really is an emotional masterpiece!
The stunning ballad may be full of sorrow but it also reinforces a positive message of inner strength. No matter how bad you feel, no matter how hard things get, you can still pull through.
In the ‘Blindfold’ music video, we see Jake alone in his apartment dealing with the loss of a loved one. The stripped back concept for the clip certainly lets the song work its magic – it effectively highlights feelings of loneliness and the essential need for solitude. You may need some tissues.
Speaking on Loose Women, Jake Quickenden discussed the meaning of ‘Blindfold’ and said: “I wanted to write songs, like the single which is about losing someone, that somebody can maybe listen to and say ‘he’s been through a tough time, I can listen to that song and relate to it. If he can pull his way through it, then I can too.’ It’s just so nice to be back and releasing music that people can hopefully relate to.”
It’s rare and refreshing to see an artist convey such raw emotion – Jake tells the story beautifully with his captivating lyrics and incredible vocals. To quote the title, you could literally be blindfolded and you’d still be able to hear the meaning in every single word that Jake sings. That’s what we call talent.
‘Blindfold’ is currently available here on iTunes. It’s the first song to be lifted from Jake Quickenden’s forthcoming EP ‘New Chapter’ which is set for release on the 1st April. To promote his new music, Quickenden recently revealed that he’ll be touring again. The handsome singer will be hitting the road later this year and you can find out where he’ll be performing here.
We can’t wait to hear the rest of Jake’s new EP when it’s released next month. He’s definitely come a long way since The X Factor and his ‘New Chapter’ is off to a brilliant start so far.
