From the very first seconds, “Drums” impresses, with James Hype and Kim Petras delivering unique beats and flawless vocals, making it a clubbing anthem. The track intensifies, building up tension before the pre-chorus drop, sure to ignite dancefloors. DJs worldwide are likely to release remixed versions of this track.
James Hype said: “I came up with the idea for ‘Drums’ in 2019, initially an instrumental called ‘Everybody Dance’ that I played in my sets. The Hypefam loved it so much that they renamed it ‘Drums’ on their own. The song’s lyrics were written a few years ago with some talented friends. Fast forward to 2023, I met Kim in LA, and we collaborated to create the version of ‘Drums’ you hear today. To top it all off, we were incredibly fortunate to have Justin Timberlake agree to keep his original vocal, making this record truly special.”
This collaboration comes after James Hype’s final “Our House” residency set at Hï Ibiza, solidifying his status in the global dance music scene. His track record of success continues to grow, with previous releases like “Ferrari” amassing over one billion streams and reaching the top ten of the UK charts. James Hype’s influence extends beyond the studio, with his live mixing skills and prolific remixes for renowned artists.
