Northampton’s pride and joy Jamie Benkert has unveiled his new single ‘Stay(4AM)’ on New Year’s Day.
Jamie started singing at his hometown’s festival, then decided to audition for X-Factor in 2015 after watching the show for years. At first, he was overshadowed by the comparisons to Olly Murs, and even Simon Cowell gave him a no.
However, the singer’s talent and his adorable, down-to-earth personality helped him make it all the way through to the second round of boot camp. While representing Northampton he showed the world who Jamie Benkert really is.
He is full of energy, kindness and determination; after having dropped out of the X-Factor he’s continued to show his passion for music. He’s uploaded loads of covers to his YouTube channel, whilst also working hard on his own music.
Just before New Year’s Eve, he released a teaser trailer to his new music video to give the first view to the fans, and the wait is finally over!
We now have a great Jamie Benkert song to start the new year. ‘Stay(4AM)’ is a breakup song, but it’s unlike the usual ones. It’s not depressing, but it’s powerful and we can still feel the pain.
Jamie said, “Let’s start the new year off with a bang!!!”.
The video was directed by Luke Tyrrell. It was shot in Warborough, Oxford and it features actress Soskia Rosimus. The single is now available on Spotify, Apple Music, Google Play, Deezer, Amazon, Shazam and iTunes.
