Jennifer Lawrence to play Marita Lorenz for her new project

Jennifer Lawrence, best known for her roles in the movies Hunger Games and X-Men , is set to work on an another project. She will be working with one of David O. Russell’s screenwriters. For Lawrence, who expressed her wish to work with Russell ‘until she dies’, working with his screenwriter while Russell is not working is not a bad bargain!

As reported by The Hollywood Reporter, Lawrence will play Marita Lorenz, a 19 year old who had an affair with Fidel Castro and was sent on an assassination mission a year later. As the story goes, she confessed her love to the dictator.

Marita  is written by American Hustle writer Eric Warren Singer. Though Lorenz’s life makes for a fascinating tale, the facts of her adventurous journey can’t be verified, like that she met Lee Harvey Oswald amid a Communist plot to kill John F. Kennedy.

Jennifer Lawrence has been critically appraised for her roles as Mystique in X-Men, Katniss Everdeen in Hunger Games and Joy Mangano in her recently released film, Joy. No doubt, this new project will give us a chance to see her play yet another amazing role.
